In my words

I keep Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X 2.9" G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires 2 on the Rock Crawler shelf because the track is wet rock, rebar and off-camber ledges where a sticky carcass is everything.

The set is 2.9" in G8, fitted front. 2.9" G8 sits in the middle of the range, so it is the set I would buy first and judge the rest against.

Stock on small-batch sets moves quickly, so the listing is the honest source for what is left.

What Pro-Line says about it

  • Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X Replica Design
  • Oversized Gnarly Design
  • Tackle Tougher Terrain and More Obstacles
  • Molded in the Legendary G8 Rock Crawling Compound
  • Made in the USA, since 1982

Questions I get about this set

Will these fit my hex?

Check the hex callout before anything else. This listing does not call out a hex, which usually means the tire ships unmounted. A tire that fits the rim will still rub if the offset is wrong, so measure your current wheel face-to-hub before you buy.

Do I need to glue these?

These are tires and wheels separately, so yes — bead glue is part of the job. Pro-Line tires want thin CA worked around the bead in quarters, not one bead of glue chased around the rim in a single pass.

Mickey Thompson Baja pro X 2.9 tires

Very nice tires, officially licensed by Mickey Thompson. These were put on a Redcat Racing vertex 6 crawler.

Awesome scale tires!

Taller and wider than the stock ones. Way more "Grab" too. I'm running stock foams in the back and stiffer two stage foams up front. Very aggressive so they will rub when turning and flexing out. Let'm self clear! 😆
